Indian? repro of Pritchard Greener Revolver Bajonet for Webley revolver

The standard-issue service revolver of the First World War, the .455 calibre Webley was carried by officers who did not typically carry a rifle and bayonet.

As officers could purchase equipment privately, in 1916 gunmaker W.W. Greener designed a short ‘T’-section bayonet to a design by Captain Arthur Pritchard. It was one of a number of attempts to adapt to close-quarters fighting in the trenches. With only six rounds in the cylinder, it would have been a psychological boost and a potentially useful backup weapon. Few were made, however, and there is no evidence that any were used.
