CAMILLUS CAM 1A1

Designed for the XM8 lightweight assault rifle system that was under development by the United States Army from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Although there were high hopes that the XM8 would become the Army's new standard infantry rifle, the project was put on hold in mid 2005, and was formally cancelled on October 31, 2005. Designed by Bob Terzuola, the Camillus 1A1 Bayonet was designed as the Camillus Cutlery entry for the XM8 project. This bayonet meets all of the US Government specifications & design requirements. The only difference between a Cam1A1 and a Cam1A3 is the sheath.

Private bayonet for M-16. With wire cutter tool.

This example is one of last manufactured before Camillus went bankrupt. Scabbard should match the bayonet and tool is missing. Bayonet blade has not been sharpened.
